Volunteer opportunity for financial aid committee work

**Applicants for volunteer positions are required to be a member of our online community**

Since 1998 IMOM has been making a difference in the lives of companion animals and their families.  We are very proud of our achievements.  If we are to continue, we need help.  It's time to secure the future of IMOM.  That can only be accomplished with a new group of dedicated volunteers.

I wish I could put into words what it's like to be BTS (behind the scenes) at IMOM.  I feel like it's important not to sugarcoat things just to get volunteers. I want to give a glimpse at the emotional highs and lows.

The low points for an IMOMer are extreme.  When the PIN dies we grieve.  We can't hold on to our grief though.  There are always others who need us.  Always.

There are incredible highs.  When you have a LTE (life threatening emergency) time is your enemy.  You go on adrenaline and instinct.  You do your very best to help the PIN.  Everything falls into place and you have a happy ending.  Can you even imagine the joy of that?

Many companion animals die or suffer in pain every day because their caretakers cannot afford the costs of non-routine veterinary care.  As a volunteer for IMOM you can be help in saving the lives of many of these animals. I can't even begin to tell you what a wonderful feeling that is.

It takes a very special individual to work in the trenches at IMOM.  Maybe you are one of those individuals.

The single most important quality we look for in volunteers is a genuine desire to help sick, injured and abused companion animals.  As a trained volunteer you will be given the opportunity to satisfy that desire.  You will be making a difference.

For the right person, volunteering for IMOM might well be one of the most rewarding jobs you will ever have.

For the animals,

Jacki Hadra - IMOM Founder

Training for IMOM volunteer work --

IMOM is an Internet based organization so your location does not matter.  Volunteers work from their homes, using their own computers.  Other volunteers work from their jobs.

IMOM volunteers will go through approximately 6-8 weeks of training.  You will learn everything you need to know to work on one of our financial aid committees.

Training will take place in an email group setting and an occasional live chat session.

If you think you might like to join the IMOM team you are invited to complete an application.

After you have completed the application someone from IMOM will acknowledge receipt via email.

The IMOM Board of Directors cannot guarantee volunteer placement. The Board will, however, make every effort to match volunteer applicants to volunteer opportunities based on the needs of the Board and the interests and abilities of the volunteer.

The Board of Directors employs a screening process for all volunteers. The level of the screening is based on the nature of the volunteer work and involvement level of the participant.

Acceptance as a volunteer is contingent upon successful completion at all levels of screening.

The Board of Directors reserves the right to reject a volunteer for any reason which the Board, in its sole judgment, determines will or may affect the best interests of IMOM.  Furthermore, the Board of Directors reserves the right to withhold the reason(s) for such refusal.

The Board of Directors accepts the service of all volunteers with the understanding that such service is at the sole discretion of the Board. Volunteers agree that the Board may at any time, for any reason, decide to terminate the volunteer's relationship with IMOM.

Volunteers may at any time, for any reason, decide to sever the volunteer's relationship with IMOM. Notice of such a decision should be communicated as soon as possible to the Board of Directors.
