Butch has been a part of my life since I was only 7 years old. The two of us grew up together! Now, he's 15 and I'm 22. Only last year, my handsome man was diagnosed with diabetes. I thought it was a death sentence... but the doctors assured me this would be manageable and Butch could still live for years to come... provided I get him the medical attention he needed.  It's been very rough for me getting everything Butch has needed since he was diagnosed with diabetes. I'm just a college student. I work full time and I go to school full time. I also have another cat named Ambrose. With my already high tuition, bills, rent, car insurance, and grocery bills, Butch's new needs pushed me over my already strained limit. I ended up having to move back into my parents house to save money on rent and electric! But now I commute an hour to school and half an hour to work from their house!

For a while my parents helped me pay for Butch's insulin, syringes, glucose curves and special food. But they informed me about three weeks ago that they would no longer be doing this. They no longer COULD help me. I was desperate. I searched everywhere for help. I even tried to find someone who could adopt Butch from me, that would be willing to give him the long life he deserves. I was to the point that I would rather have seen him with a stranger who took care of him, than with me where he would start to suffer and eventually die b/c of my inability to care for him.  After nearly a week, a kind and wonderful woman referred me to IMOM. I was blown off my feet at how loving, generous and amazing everyone here is! I've hardly been able to stop crying for the past week because I've been so incredibly happy to know that there are people out there who would care so much to help people like me and my Butch, when they don't even know us. I want to thank EVERYONE here. You all show such kindness and generosity. I look forward to getting to know all of you here at IMOM, and I know Butch is grateful to you all too!

Applicant has been very responsive and very appreciative (needed some emergency funds prior to sponsorship).  Vet sent a very detailed treatment plan and cost breakdown (and has included a 25% cost discount on curves, insulin, meds).
