Pet's name: Sweetie and Prince
Submitted by: Pat - GF Committee

Sweetie became a Spoiled Royal in June of 2004. Her original caretaker, who
loved her enormously, had been ill for 5 months and went from a hospital to a
nursing home. Sweetie was kept in a basement during this time and when the
family determined it was time to look for a home for her, a friend contacted us
for help.
Our original intention was to foster Sweetie until we could find a home for her,
but after hearing her story and understanding what it means to a Yorkshire
Terrier to be alone for 5 months, we decided she should join our family.
We spent a few days trying to find a different name for her but the fact is, her
name fits her perfectly. She is a "sweetie" and our little princess. She loves
to dress up in clothes and will strut around the house showing off her outfits
to the other dogs. She loves everyone, requires at least two belly rubs a day
and fits into my lap perfectly.
We love her beyond measure and consider it an honor that she has graced our home
with her sunny personality. We know that her original caretaker rests easy in
heaven now that Sweetie is safe and treated as the Spoiled Royal she clearly is.

Prince's pregnant mother
was purchased at an auction in Missouri. Prince and his 3 siblings were born in
freedom and cared for by Puppy Mill Rescue.
Prince and a sister both have Microvascular Dysplasia, hydrocephalus and
luxating patellas. Two brothers fared better in the health department.
We adopted Prince in May of 2005 - we were actually looking for a Yorkie but
when we saw he, we knew absolutely that he was "our dog." He's tiny, now up to 5
lbs, has lots of attitude (we call him our devil dog) and he gives the best hugs
in the world.
He has a love/hate relationship going with his fur sibling Mason and if there is
any trouble going on around here, we know Prince most likely started it. That
adorable face manages to melt our hearts and keeps him out of major trouble.
Regardless of how ornery he may be, he is and always will be my Prince Charming.
