Pet's name: Punkin and Mason

Submitted by: Pat - GF Committee

Punkin

We don't know a lot about Punkin's history.  He was a breeder surrender and taken in by WolfSpirit's Toy Breed Puppy Mill Rescue. He was to be transported to another rescue group but the day before the transport, the second rescue group decided they did not want an older dog that would be slow to be adopted(he's about 9 yrs old.) He needed to be moved so we picked him up anyway with the intention of fostering him but once his foster dad saw him it was a love at first sight.

Punkin is a tiny little Pomeranian, with a really big attitude.  He has about 3 teeth in his head and has problems with his right front leg.  The vet thinks it may have been broken at some point and left untreated. He has this adorable little move where he backs up when he wants picked up and he barks his dad out the door every morning. He sleeps on the pillow at night and thinks nothing of chasing other dogs three times his size away if they come too close. He is as adorable as his photo and fits right in with the rest of the Spoiled Royals.

Mason

Everyone has a "heart dog" and Mason is mine. We think he is about 8 years old, he was rescued from a mill in Oklahoma and he came to us from Puppymill Rescue to foster. He owned my heart from the minute I saw his photo, shaved down, insect bites all over him, terrible teeth and infected ears.

Mason was terrified of everyone and everything, he could not go through a door or walk up and down steps and he hid under the bed to get away from us.  But Mason was a "watcher" and he watched the other dogs interact with us.  Tucker taught him to go through a door and patiently worked with him to show him how to use steps. The break through came when we discovered he was food motivated and Mason discovered the joy of Pup Corn. His love of Pup Corn helped him learn to first trust, then love him Mom.

He puts the sunshine in my day no matter how gloomy it may be outside and he is the light in my life.  This little guy who was going to be put down by a breeder who didn't like his tail has become my best buddy and is now known as "Mason the Magnificent!"
