Give Gracie your vote! Take a second look at beautiful Gracie girl. She has
been in foster care for about 5 months with SEVA GRREAT (Southeastern Virginia
Golden Retriever Rescue Education and Training) and she is now 7 months old.
Gracie started her journey with SEVA GRREAT after being dropped off at a
veterinarians office to be euthanized. Her tail had been removed because it was
crooked and she was leaking urine. The veterinarian found that Gracie was born
with an abnormality called ectopic ureters. From the goodness of the
veterinarians heart, he completed the complicated corrective surgery and then
contacted our rescue for help.
Even dealing with those scary experiences at such a young age, Gracie has been a
model of strength and courage, inspiring everyone around her with her ability to
look past her rough beginnings and trust and love those around her. She infects
people and pups with her vitality and love of play and wins over the hearts of
everyone she comes in contact with. Though she tries hard not to show any
signs of her complications and does her best to be a "normal" pup she continues
to be unable to control her urine flow making it necessary for her to wear a
diaper.
SEVA GRREAT sent Gracie to North Carolina State University to seek the expert
advice of the veterinary specialists. After several diagnostic tests it was
found that she once again would need another corrective surgery to stop the
urine from leaking. She is also suffering from chronic urinary tract infections
which could lead to a life threatening situation.
Our rescue is working very hard to raise the $3,000 needed for this vital
surgery, and no pup deserves it more than this little one! Even now, on
medication and persistently sick, you can find Gracie playing outside with
reckless abandon, running after her foster siblings until she's dizzy or chasing
lightening bugs at dusk. She is an inspiration to us all, to live in the moment
and never take for granted what we are given! With your vote, you can help
Gracie earn funds to have this much needed surgical procedure. We want Gracie
to have the best quality of life possible so she can continue to infuse every
moment of her life with joy and love for years to come!
