Rosie is rescue dog. A mix of Rhodesin Ridgeback & Boxer. her 1rst owner abused
her and made Rosie have 2 litters in her first two years of life. Then she was
sold to a pet store. Her 2nd owner was wonderful; but ended up in the hospital
with Cancer, and passed away.
We got a " Red Alert" from from my neice in The Texas area's 'Rhodesian Rescue'
that a Rhidgeback named " Rosie " was in an area rescue in Doylestown or
Downingtown. In any case we got lost getting there.
She was melancholy and losing weight. We were told she was 1 & 1/2 " years old.
Her owner had passed away in the hospital.
They assumed it was
melancholy and I suppose some of it was. Needless to say we ended up going to
the Rescue.Pets do have feelings and souls.
In any case Rosie was a beautiful Dog and still is. The person ( the owner's
good friend )who was paying for her boarding said he had to meet us before we
could take her home. We thought we would get to take her home that night. In any
case the Rescue where she was boarding called the friend on his cell phone. It
was busy.
Meanwhile Rosie was jumping all over me..and once she got me on my back she
practically defolited my face with her "sandpaper like tongue" licking me to the
point of sexual harrassment :) Needless to say we didn't press charges..and she
obviously wanted us to take her home. I think her owner must have been looking
down on Rosie because we stayed till it started to get dark, and the phone rang.
It was him calling back. It seemed like we might get to take Rosie home. He
asked to talk to us. Asked us a few questions and since I have had Ridgebacks
since I was 10 or 11, and a German Shepard when I was 2 that allowed me to hang
onto his tail and grag me across the yard. The staff was then asked what they
thought of us as possible parents. He must've liked what they said. We got to
take Rosie home. That is a whole 'nother story you can read about at IMOM.org.--
