Duke is a very special boy. He is a 75 pound Hound mix that I adopted from the
Kentucky Humane Society. To know him is to love him, and be loved by him. He
thinks everyone is his best friend and does not realize that not everyone wants
to hug and kiss him. He is a happy, loveable boy that knows tricks such as
"smile" and "do you want me to hold you". He is 6 years old and has so much
happiness and love to give. He loves to run and play.
He was born with a crooked front leg and has always walked with a limp. He
started limping on his back leg about 8 months ago and the vet said that he had
a torn ACL and needed surgery. He said that surgery was especially a need for
Duke because he already has a bad front leg. I have always provided my pets with
any vet care needed but this surgery was not affordable for me. IMOM stepped in
and helped me save Duke.
This contest is the perfect time because this week is Duke's 6-month anniversary
after having surgery. I was going to post an update but instead Duke and I are
going to enter this contest and hope to help two organizations that are very
dear to my heart, IMOM and Critter Crusade. Duke is doing great and very happy
to have both of his back legs to walk on!
