My name is Gunnar and I am
a 1 year old pitbull. Most people hear the P word (pitbull) and have nothing but
negative things to say....The reality is I am a very fun loving harmless
puppy...maybe I'm a little goofy and clumsy to..HaHa...
Well here's my story...My
original name was Rambo (Geez am I glad my new mommy changed my name) and I
belonged to a family that lived in a apartment and could no longer keep me. I
spent most of my days in a kennel which was no fun for a active puppy like
myself. Fortunately the neighbor spotted me just a couple hours before my owner
was about to take me to the pound and it turns out her best friend is a owner of
2 rescued pitbulls and has a weak spot for pitbulls....Lucky for me I got to
meet her and I never left. She fell in love with me the minute she saw me and
that's how I got my new family.
Well here's the worst part when I was about 10 months old I started having a
hard time walking. The vet found that I had Severe Hip Dysplasia in both hips
along with arthritis.... They said I would live a normal life but it would be
very painful and with my 2 brothers we were always running around so there was
no way I was going to be a non-active pup. I want to run around in my huge yard
and play all day with my two brothers. (Kayne 6yrs old and Myles 5 years old)
The surgery that I needed
would cost about $2800.00 which was out of the question because my new mommy was
expecting her first baby and it just wasn't in the budget but she had a hard
time excepting the fact that she could not help me live a normal healthy pain
free life. Luckily IMOM and OSLF were able to post my story on there website and
enough funds were raised to get me my surgery....(THANKS A MILLION IMOM AND
OSLF!!!!) It has been about 6 months since my surgery and I am a changed pup. I
have no pain at all and believe it or not I can run faster then my brothers. Me
and my family are sooo Thankful for IMOM and OSLF. There is nothing I could ever
do to thank them enough.
