Parker was a local shelter Dal we were to foster until he could get his ride to
rescue.
My husband went to the shelter one week before Christmas 2004 to get him and
after he was gone a while I called to see if Jim and the Dal were ok. Jim was
pulling into the driveway with now our new foster and we let him out in the
backyard and he ran and ran and ran... this is when my husband turn and looked
at me and said "He is not going anywhere". Now at this time we had 5
Dalmatians of our own..4 were strays from 1994. This is how Parker's " Handsome
Dude" life began with us.
He is a wonderful loving boy, everyone he meets he greets them with a big hug
and a wet kiss. He loves to travel with us in our motor home and plays well with
others.. he loves to chase cridders and play dress up, he is one big ham.
Last October 2007 I saw some deer eating some pear's off a tree..behind the
backyard and went into the yard to watch them.. Parker comes over to the tree
next to me and hikes his leg and looked backwards at me and no pee. I thought
why is he not peeing. Off to the vet we went... Parker was full of stones. He
did survive the surgery and now has to be on a UD diet. We go to the vet every
three months and get a urine test and all is good.
I look back and think about the deer and how they caught my attention, otherwise
I would have not noticed Parker blocked.. all things are meant for a reason.
