Pet number and name: 032 - Higgins

25% of profits to:
Fayette County Animal
Rescue

This beautiful boy's Christian name is Higgins, but his alias is "The Brown
Bunny," because we have to put a stretchy bandanna around his ears or they drag
through his dog food!
Higgins spent the first five years of his life being abused and neglected in
rural Fayette County, Tennessee, and when he was found, it became evident that
he had been tethered in the same spot for an extended period of time with no
food, shelter, or medical attention. He was taken by the wonderful people of
Fayette County Animal Rescue, and was so ill that one of the workers there
brought her sleeping bag, clocked out, and stayed with him for several weeks.
It took eight months of medical treatment before Higgins was healthy enough to
be adopted out. Luckily, the same lady who slept in a sleeping bag by my boy
recommended me as a parent, and just before Christmas 2005, I brought Higgins to
the first home he had ever known.
Higgins is stubborn as a mule, and neurotic about being with people all the
time. His big, baggy brown eyes look so serious, as though he spends his time
in deep thought - but I believe those thoughts are generally related to food and
the acquisition of food, as well as belly rubs, and the getting of belly rubs
from as many people as possible. He is one of the greatest blessings of my
life. He's gotten older now, but can still hunt low flying birds, wrestle with
his hound dog "brother," and sneak food from the countertops, just like a
younger man!
Please vote for my dog - he's the best - and also because the 25% will go to the
rescue that invested thousands of dollars in saving one forgotten, unloved dog,
so that he could come into my home and make it complete.
