For life threatening emergencies -- only

IMOM defines a life threatening emergency (LTE) as follows:

A life threatening emergency exists when it has been confirmed to IMOM, in writing, from a veterinarian that your pet will die or have to be humanely euthanized if care is not provided within 10 days or less.

We have very limited funds and donations are at an all-time low.  Applications will be processed only when you have read the step-by-step instructions and provided us with the necessary documents needed.

You are very strongly advised to read everything thoroughly.  Sending us emails to ask if we can help will only slow down the process as we will simply advise you to come back and read the information we have provided.  You will be wasting our time and yours.  More importantly - your pet will continue to suffer.

You are understandably under stress and want to get through this process as quickly as possible.  Unfortunately, it's not as easy as simply exchanging a few emails and sending a check to your veterinarian.

There are no shortcuts.  As you read through the step-by-step instructions please keep in mind that IMOM is a federally registered charity.  We have to justify every penny we spend to the IRS, our donors and grantors.  In order to do that we need to have complete files on each and every case.

The reality

As much as IMOM would like to help everyone who comes to us, it is simply not possible.  We are working with very limited funds and an over abundance of requests for help.

Recent changes....

Effective April 6, 2009 IMOM can only accept applications for pets who are in a life threatening emergency and need one-time care.  There are no exceptions.

The fastest way to get help is to go through the step-by-step instructions.  Sending an email to ask if IMOM can help will not speed up the process.  Instead, it will prolong the process.
