About IMOM

IMOM was founded in November of 1998 in memory of a long-time feline companion named Magic. IMOM is an acronym for In Memory of Magic.

Articles of Incorporation were filed in the state of Maryland in 1998 and 501(c)(3) status was approved by the IRS in 1999.

IMOM has no physical office and is staffed entirely by volunteers who work from their homes and/or their places of business, in various states nationwide.

IMOM is entirely Internet based. Work is accomplished via our web site, email and fax. We do have a telephone answering service but calls are only returned to veterinary professionals.

Committees

The organization has three committees and a Board of Directors.

The General Committee works to review and process applications for general financial aid. This is by far our busiest committee.

A Sponsor Committee works with cases that are ongoing and sponsored by monthly donors.

The Spay|Neuter committee was established in 2010. All SN applications are processed by this committee.

Members from the Board of Directors work on all three committees.
