Pearl is the family 8 months old spray kitty recuse from theanimal shelter, by I and my grandchildren. She loves to lounge on the window ledge, fell from the ledge. She couldnot walk; she began to drag herself on her belly. I took her to ER in which they did x-ray, anddiscovered she had a left femoral head and neck ostectomy fracture. My heartjust drop. I try my best to give Pearl the best care, like (WellnessPlan)preventive medicine, but this really blind side me. X-ray and painmedication $ 384.00. They quote me $2,000. Pearl must have surgery. If thereis any help so Pearl can stay in our family, we greatly appreciated.

If you have not already done so, please check the financial aid tab for instructions on how to apply to IMOM for assistance with fund raising.  I hope you are able to get help for poor Pearl.

http://www.imom.org/fa/index.htm   Start reading here then start gathering all the required information for fundraising.  Ask your vet if they will be willing to work with IMOM if your case is accepted.   Also ask around to other vets to see if they will give you a better price.

Fingers, paws and whiskers crossed that help can be found for Pearl.

Hello, Care credit said it is going to take 7-10 days to receive my denial letter. Pearl is in pain now & I don't know what to do.  does anyone have any suggestions?  is this normal?  I am trying  to find a vet to work with IMOM now.  A vet in this area that has worked with IMOM before doesn't do this kind of surgery.  If any one knows a vet in Annaoolis,MD area, please let me know.  Thank you for your suggestions, Karen

If you need to ask a question of the volunteers, you need to email them at gf@imom.org.  They do not routinely read the forums.

Good luck!

First, your Care Credit approval or denial will be INSTANT if you apply online. You can do that here: http://www.carecredit.com/, then print it out to be included in your packet.

You'll find the list of other documents you need to include in your packet in steps 4& 5 of
the Financial Aid step-by-step instructions found here:
4: http://www.imom.org/fa/step4-docs-for-vet.htm
5: http://www.imom.org/...docs-needed.htm

After you get the packet of hard copies of these documents together, the best and fastest way to get them to IMOM is to fax them to:
1-630-214-8952. (I brought my packet to my vet to fax it for me, because I don't have a fax machine. Hopefully yours will be understanding enough to do the same for you)

After faxing these documents, you will need to confirm they have received them so you can they can send you an application to start filling out here: http://www.imom.org/...rms/request.htm
(This is NOT the application, only confirmation that they have received your qualification document packet so that they can give you an actual application)

From there, it all pretty much rests on staying in contact with everyone. You should be able to get any vet who will perform the surgery to work with IMOM. There's no reason not to. If, however, they are hesitant. then get them a copy of IMOM's payment policy forms, which are in step 4 of the Financial aid instructions above.

And finally, you will need to read IMOMS policies here, so you can see to it that everything gets done the right way. You can look those over here: http://www.imom.org/...p6-policies.htm

Best of luck with your kitty!
