My name is Dave and I have a real problem. In 2005 my wife and I took our daughter Jessi to pick up a cat that the owner had gotten from some pet store then decided that she didn't want her. The cat was between 1 and 2 at the time. Anyway we got there and my daughter fell in absolute love with him! The lady we got him from had him for less than a month and hadn't even really named him, at least nothing that she really used other than just "Cat". So on the way home, with him in the carrier in the back seat next to Jessi, we asked her what we should call him. It was winter here in St. Louis and snowing pretty good at the time, and out 2 year old looks out the window and says "we should call her Snowy!" I tried, with no success, that big orange cats usually aren't called Snowy. She said "Good, then he'll be the only one!" That's how we ended up with a big orange male cat named Snowy, who for the last 6 years has been the most loved member of our family, and my daughters best friend.
Now for my problem. Snowy, who is a indoor/outdoor cat went out Monday after supper, and when I went to call him to come in for the night around 9pm, he came up the driveway on 3 legs. At first I thought (hoped really) that he got something in his paw, but as he hopped up to get in the back door I could see his left hind leg swinging loosely. I was able to take him the next morning to the vet who x-ray his hind leg and showed me the x-ray and told me he has a compound fracture of tibia and fibula of left hind leg. I was able to get a pain shot for him. They don't do surgery there so she refered me to another place. I called them Wednesday, found out over the phone it will cost 1500+ which I don't have. I went on the internet last night and found this place and I'm hoping and praying I can find some sort of miracle. I just can't loose a member of the family that has meant so much to us, especially my little girl, for these past 6 years.
Thank you for listening, and bless you all.
