Mila has been through so much and I am sending positive thoughts and prayers that today is somewhat better for her...

She needs rest and tender loving care which I see she is getting...sleep and rest for the next few days and I'm hoping to hear that she's improving each day...

I would keep her calm and quiet and let's see what happens...

I don't imagine she's too hungry yet and antibiotics sometimes upset the stomach even more...so eating can come alittle later, let's hope she drinks some water today...

Dogs are strong...I'm hoping that Mila knows there are so many rooting for her, and she's back with the people that love her...she's got a lot going for her right now...Judy

Thank you for the positive energy Judy!

Mila is doing a little bit better today.

She's still a bit loopy from the Morphine patch, but she's taking it well.

She still hasn't been able to get up on her own, but she drank some water today!

I shall keep everyone updateded on Mila's progress and with pictures!

Loves of love,

Maria&Family

Hi guys! This is Jessica from the clinic that did Mila's surgery. We just wanted to come on board and let you guys know how amazing the entire staff thinks you guys are for raising the funds Mila needed for her procedure. As you can see, she was in dire need! We also wanted to say WOW to Mila's new family who have gone above and beyond for this puppy. I took those graphic surgery photos Maria posted above and I can't begin to tell you how severe the growth was and how badly it needed to be removed. I am glad Mila got the treatment she needed and hopefully she'll continue her speedy recovery. Again, you guys are amazing! Thank you for all that you do!

Thank you so much for the kind words and the update, Jessica. We're getting a bit concerned because we haven't heard from them in a couple of days.

Maria, I have been in contact with a reknowned animal oncologist in L.A. who helped us when our Ziggy had cancer. I have been forwarding Mila's information to her. In her opinion, with this type of condition and surgery, Mila likely needs more pain medication than just a morphine patch. IMOM.org cannot forward her comments to you because they cannot get involved in medical recommendations. That is understandable. If you would like to hear more about what she said, or have direct contact with her (I believe she does a free consultation), please ask the IMOM.org facilitators to forward your contact info to me. Or ask them for mine. I don't want to interfere with Mila's care, but I at least wanted to get this info to you so that Mila doesn't suffer unnecessarily.

Hugs to you, Mila, and her treatment team,

Becky, Nacho, Frankie, Angel Ziggy, and Angel YoYo

Hello Friends, Well I took Mila to the Vet and it was'nt good news. The Vet saidt hat Mila had cancer. I was so shocked I could'nt believed it. We were so devastated. After all that was done to her in the surgery, and the help that was offered by all of you great humble friends. To say she only had 3 mo to live.

How horrible1 But I'm praying for for thE cancer to go away. I will see where i can take her to find out about what she needs. I dont know how much it will cost! I dont know if she can even take the kemo! But I will find out for Mila sake. We really wanted her to live a healthy life after all that she has gone through. She is so much better now. she lays in the kitchen as I cook. She stairs at me with her hazel eyes with so much peace, and happiness to finally find a home. I wish she can last longer I know all of us which that too. So lets all get together an pray for her health and everyone else that is in need because in the end we have the power by uniting the power of love.

Thank you all

God Bless,

Maria

Maria,

I'm sorry about the bad news, and I truly hope that the prognosis for Mila turns out to be wrong. But no matter what, Mila has a better chance at fighting the cancer and will just plain feel better having all that necrotic/infected tissue gone. Plus, as you said, she will know the comfort of being in a loving home -- not having to worry about where her next meal will come from, not having to be out in all kinds of weather, not having to fend off predators. And that alone is priceless. So you've still done a HUGE amount for Mila and I'm glad that IMOM was able to help.

As an aside, I'm a rescue volunteer and I deal far too often with people who won't go out of their way for an animal - whether it's a stray or their own pet. So it's gratifying to "meet" people like you who do give a damn.

Please keep us posted on how Mila is doing. Sending all good thoughts her way. :rose:

Stopping by for a quick visit to Mila and her family of earth angels. I'm hoping today has been a good day for all of you. No matter how much time Mila has, she's living the best days of her life right now- surrounded by the love in your home. And, I believe love has been responsible for many a miracle.....

I also want to tell you what a KIND and COMPASSIONATE thing you've done for Mila...she needed help desperately...you stopped and helped...just because...how wonderful is that...

This little girl was saved because you cared...and now you are giving her the greatest gift of all...a home that loves her unconditionally...and you'll care for her as if there's nothing wrong...

Enjoy your days together...she knows you saved her...I only wish you had more time together...but make your days count...snuggle and let her just be by you and your family...and you will be rewarded...

You saved her life......and gave her a chance...she couldn't ask for more than that...a family to love her and accept her...I am so proud of you...Judy

Hello all my friends sorry I haven't posted about Mila in a few days. I moved to Kissimmee, Fl and you all know how moves are. Well for Mila she is doing so good she's eating and playing it hard to believe that she has cancer and has gone through so much. Mila already got all her stiches removed and her anemia got better . I spoke to my Vet about what Becky oncologist had told me about the pain. they said she was not in distress so that was a good sign that she wasn't going through pain. I'm going to find an Oncologist here for her in the area so that she can last the most possible. But I thank you all for your support not only in money but being there for our family through this hard time. I will always be greatfull to Imom.org, and all of you. This is the best gift I ever recieved because we believed. Thank you all. God Blessyou all. We will be in touch. Love, and Hugs Mila Maria n Family...

Hi, Maria!

I just wanted to check in today to see how you and Mila are doing. I am THRILLED to hear that she's been doing so well in your loving care. LOVE is the ultimate healing force, so I believe she has the BEST chance possible for an extended life with you and your family. THANK YOU for being such a kind and loving soul to take her in and make sure she gets what she needs. It sounds like you talked with the animal oncologist whose name I gave you and that you're in the process of finding someone locally to help you and Mila. Maria, it has been a pleasure for me, and I'm sure for all the IMOM members, to help you. Please update us from time to time to let us know how you're both doing. You and sweet Mila will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Big hugs to you, your family, and MILA!!!

Becky, Nacho, Frankie, Angel Ziggy, and Angel YoYo

A recent tumor case had me wondering how Mila is doing.

I know the tumors were cancerous. But, if Mila's Mom is still out there, I hope we can get an update one of these days.
