Angel is a 6 year old white shepherd with a very large mammary mass, which must be removed right away. If the tumor becomes necrotic, it could take her life. There is also a concern about metastisis. Angel has had this tumor for over 6 months now while her family sought help. It is now painfully and dangerously huge. IMOM pledged funds collected for Neka's treatment to make surgery possible. Here is what her family said to us:

Thank you so much they (her parents) have read your email with me and we will be taking angel over to the vets office in the morning to see if we can go ahead and have her taken into surgery but thank you so much I'm sorry to hear about the other animal that passed away but please know we appreciate this very much her surgery would not be possible without you thanks again!!!!

Although the circumstances surrounding her funding are tragic, they will be used to save Angel. Thanks to all for your support of this deserving girl.

Actually, Angel's dad found my number and called me this morning, crying to thank us for saving his dog. His daughter wrote us just a bit ago:

They couldn't fit her in this morning due to there not being any surgeons working today but we have her scheduled in for Monday so with your help and a lot if prayers I have faith angel will get the care she needs and deserves once again I appreciate everything you have done in helping us and will be sure to spread the word about how great what I mom is doing for animals in need I'm truly blessed we found you!!

I hope they will find their way to this thread to post directly soon. Her owners are depending on their daughter to communicate via the internet so they have to wait for her to visit but I know they are overjoyed.

Thanks, angels, for saving Angel!

"Pawsitive" thoughts for Angel and her family over the weekend. The sooner that tumor is removed the better.

Will say a prayer, as I always do, for CLEAN MARGINS. Angel is beautiful, and reminds me a little of a former PIN, Jack.

hi everyone!!!! my name is jennifer waddell (angels adopted sister) literally she truly is one of the family. i was reading your replys and posts to my parents we truly are grateful for all the support and prayers! angel is here with us awaiting her visit to the vets office tomorrow, although in pain, she is as comfortable as we can possibly make her getting all the love and hugs in the world! todays is fathers day and i think this has turned in to being a very good day for my dad. i dont have to watch him cry anymore scared angel might die. instead hes (right this second) happy and laying in the floor with her holding her petting her and giving her lots of attention. you all have helped make this experience amazingly supportive and reassuring knowing we have all of you backing us and just simply being there. i will be sure to post tomorrow about everything that happens at her vets office thanks again!!!!!!

We just received a message that Angel will have surgery but it may be tomorrow morning. They said there was a concern that the tumor had grown too much to be operable since they hadn't seen her in over a month, but they are going ahead. We will keep you posted. Keep good thoughts coming, please!

Oh, I hope not. We need some good news. :(

Prayers the surgery can be done, and is successful.

We just received the invoice, and it's just what was on the estimate so I'm cautiously optimistic...!

Well....good news and less good news. First the good :) .

Surgery was done, and although they were expecting to find other tumors, the xrays were clear! So they are hopeful that they were able to remove it all.

The less good news is that Angel has heartworms. They will be doing the "soft" treatment of antibiodics and HW preventative. We have requested an estimate and are planning to pledge the cost for the first month.

Thanks to everyone who donated and is concerned about Angel. We'll keep you posted.

Otis doesn't like any critters messing with any heart, and is concerned too that Angel is kept on preventative meds. But, the "got it all" and her spay are 2 steps forward. Hopefully the eradication of existing HW will have her breathing a whole lot easier, after some extensive R&R. Eyes focused on Angel.

Two balls, one strike...

Hopefully the family will realize how serious this is.

Oh, I am so very shocked and sorry to hear this sad news. I wasn't aware she was already at home. I'm so sorry this happened after the help she needed was found. It sounded so hopeful after the surgery. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss, and let the rest of your family, especially your dad, know I am thinking of them and keeping them and Angel in my prayers.

Godspeed, sweet Angel.
