  1. Basically, I am one of 4 kids being raised by a single mother. We have a Shih Tzu named Devit whom we got after my parent's divorce. As corny as it sounds, he was there for all of us emotionally when we needed it over the years, knowing we can't help him now when he needs it most is the most heart breaking feeling. I have a job which has gone all to either my little angel's vet appointments, college books, my car that keeps breaking down or my mom's. We were told he has Intervertebral Disk Disease, his spine has slowly been deteriorating but he's never shown signs in the past until recently where he's almost completely lost the use of his little back legs. It's absolutely heartbreaking to see him try to walk to go to the bathroom. He's on bed rest until we can figure out how to pay for the surgery, I started saving up as best as I can but we've been struggling. We would appreciate any help whatsoever, he's been the most amazing, loyal dog and doesn't deserve this :( email: suupimniaa@gmail.com Thank you for your time.
  2. Hello, my name is Melissa and my dog is Gator. I really don't know what I'm supposed to say but I really need help for the best dog I've ever known. Gator is five ..he is a Pitt as far as I know but more almost like a bully with a big head and an even bigger heart. I was given gator when he was three months old by nephew ..who insisted I keep him.. I ha recently got divorced and was in the midst of the saddest days of my life ..my brother had passed away at 39 after being sick for years ..I took care of him until he passed and shortly there after my two oldest friends of 30 plus years died two months apart .. so many deaths and my children leaving home to start their life as well as the divorce had left me in a depression that there was no way to come through. Gator saved me is the short story. Though he couldn't talk and I couldn't bark he understood me and I him. I've never been away from him since the day I was blessed with him for the longest four hours. He is the kindest ,loving and gentle creature I've known..now he's sick and I'm at a loss as to how to help him. I applied and received a care credit card but only for 500$ which was almost depleted first visit and got the meds and test that I could afford ..but none were positive . .now he's even worse and needs xrays but I don't have enough to cover all the test they need to do for my boy ..I'm going to little animal clinic on hey 19 in port Richey and it looks like his kidneys are the prob but I don't know for sure ..he's just so uncomfortable at this point I can hardly stand it. Please I'm begging you or anybody to find it in your heart to help my best friend..he surely deserves it. Thank you, Melissa

  5. Please visit, like, donate, share, and comment on these two campaigns I've started on GofundMe.com! My lab/pit had to have part of her tail amputated last Wednesday, and our newer rescue Joey needs surgery on his shoulder ASAP for Osteochondritis Dessicans. Delilah's care will come to around $1,500 before we are done treatment, and Joey's care will come to almost $5,000! I'm a single, disabled mom, and these health issues just were not in the budget! Trying every avenue possible to get help, so please pass this on to your friends, family, and contacts, at the very least! Your help is greatly appreciated.
  6. Please help us. My dog was hit by a car and the guy ran off! I haven't been able to work because of my sons medical issues. He may have autism and other factors. My credit is to bad for the carecredit and my bf has none. We need 2500$ by Monday December 7th (My Birthday) to get my dog his surgery he needs.(Been Extended to asap) He has a broken pelvis, bruised organs, Fractured ribs, fractured spine, and can't walk. His head was banged up pretty bad and he's miserable. We were unable to keep him at the vet through the weekend due to funds. Already had to lay out 450$ to take him home with pain medications and my car is about to be reposed. We have 900$ down on him now if you call up at the vet office. If I don't come up with the rest of the money today we'll have to amputate his leg (Something we really don't want to do) If all you can do is share this or say a prayer I would greatly appreciate it and so would our family.
  7. Mona needs help

Hi there, I joined this forum in the hopes of raising some money for costly pet care for my cat in need. I adopted Mona, a special senior kitty from a rescue in Pennsylvania. They had rescued her from a kill shelter in rural PA where she had ended up as a stray. She was in dire condition with several skin conditions, malnourished and severely ill. The rescue used their available resources to bring her back to life but was not aware of some of the more long-term underlying conditions from which she was suffering. As her sniffles cleared up a bit, I noticed her breathing was still compromised and took her to a vet within a week of having adopted her. My vet in the Lower East Side of Manhattan diagnosed her with an upper respiratory infection, yeast infection in her ears, ringworm, and then performed an x ray to determine she has free fluid in her abdomen and a diaphragmatic hernia both of which are contributing to her compromised breathing and require immediate attention. I have inquired into getting assistance from the rescue but they do not have the resources. I am very concerned about Mona's wellbeing as her breathing is effected and the vet warned that her condition could worsen and effect her heart and lungs further if I don't get her care as soon as possible. I have already spent over $600 to get to this point on the visit, x rays and meds to treat her more minor conditions. I still need to take her in for another visit ($105) to get her a full blood panel ($190), fecal parasite test ($55), ultrasound ($700) right away. Then I need to bring the ultrasound to a specialist ($200+) and she will need surgery according to my vet and the radiologist which will cost thousands of dollars but I am still waiting on a pre-testing estimate. I don't know how this whole thing works but I need help. Right now I have this super special kitty living in pain and potentially getting worse but my hands are tied because I cannot afford to help her. Anything would help. Do you know a vet local to NYC who would perform pro-bono services? Do you have money to donate? I could provide my vet's contact info to donate directly. Thanks for your help. Lee
  8. Dora Needs your Help

Hi! About a year ago I rescued 2 small dogs from a kill shelter. Momma Lady and daughter-Dora. A morkie and Yorkie. Dora has developed a severe otitis externa. No meds or diet has helped and vets are insisting on total ear canal ablation and lateral bulla osteotomy (TECA/LBO) surgery on both ears. The cost is ridiculous ($4,600.00) and i was denied care credit. I can not afford this upfront. It's so severe that her left ear is now inverted and the built up tissue from her scratching is exposed. She scratches herself till she bleeds now and im desperate to get this surgery done before she causes herself anymore pain. If anyone can provide me some a help or advice i appreciate it. these are pics of her ears.

  11. Hi, unfortunately I have come to visit in a broken state so please excuse me if im al over the place. I come from boston, ma and I love animals more than words can share. I have taken in strays and tried to save as many cats as I could from an early age (my mom didn't allow dogs) although my mom didn't like the idea of me bringing home "they can have a disease" she would say in broken English but she loved them too and let them stay. She was diagnosed with cancer and passed a month after my dad from a broken heart , her cancer got better but when he died she just fell apart. I don't like to admit this and probably shouldn't but I ended up homeless at a young age immediately and never knew what happened to my cats , my sister and I never got along and lets just say I didn't consider a lawyer at such a young age and well it was tough and long story is I dealt with a lot of loss to the point where im scared to get too close to people in fear I will lost them too. I used to have somewhat of a decent career and thought that I was very good at what I did for work, marketing but my life stopped when I got in a car accident that nearly took my life and I was left plagued with health conditions that stem from the accident. My fiancé at the time broke up cheated with me because Im guessing because I was half a man in a few respects and ended up at my cousins house for which he was just recovering from the loss of his wife for which we helped each and I have been here since but he has been doing more of the helping lately and also takes care of the cats we took in which had a litter which we gave most away. My health got worse but I tried to stay strong and lets just say tinkerbell , my cat, she certainly seen me through some dark days. days I wanted to give up. She now needs me and I cant help her because I cant afford her surgery. My cousin brought her to merwin clinic in allston yesterday because I just knew something was wrong, she is a talker and always by my side, on my shoulders when I walk around the house so her hiding was strange and then I noticed she couldn't sit without discomfort and noticed blood where she pees. It wasn't the better of the 2 evils, I hoped it was urinary infection but the doctor said she had more than likely pyometra which I knew was bad from what I read when I googled about the blood loss and what caused it. abnormaly large ovalries and she will need further tests , xray and surgery. I don't have a peny to my name and always had grandiose ideas of bouncing back from my injuries so never thought of taking gov assistance. Im afraid, Im very afraid im going to lose her and I feel dead inside. I tried a go fund me but you need god networking in terms of having a ton of followers or being lucky enough for someone with a ton of followers to tweet your fund. I have tried to gain more followers but its just not going as fast as I need it to, tried reaching out to all the 'who is who" of the animal lovers world via tweets and emails but nothing yet. Instead I get dome stuff like "its a dumb animal' or "yeah no more clothes filled with cat hair, smell of piss and save big bcus kitty litter can get expensive" I Understand everyone isn't a fan of animals but that's just wrong and the idea of the crowd fund , set up to pay off the New England patriots fine of 1 million dollars for cheating in football" raking in tons of cash while my fund gets buried beneath the likes of such funds because well those make money for the site and I understand that as a business but not as a person. Angel memorial will pay half if I provide proof of income, well I don't have any. I would think the proof of lack of income would make more sense but I guess its more about proving how much you don't make opposed to make. I enjoy uploading game related videos to youtube but have put up my pc for sale and well im sure it will sell but nothing but extreme lowballers there when I have already priced to sell but will take the best offer and more concerned about time because I don't have much of it. She is the closest I will ever get to having a daughter and consider her my child and ironically if I had her fixed there would be no issue so its my fault to make maters worse but I didn't want her to get frightened or lose her because of surgery gone wrong which also ironic almost identical to what she needs now only 10 times more money. thank you and hopefully not making anyone upset for posting this
  12. My bulldog, Butkus is my whole world! He is my only "kid" and I've had him since he was 8 weeks old. He is my everything! Last week he was diagnosed with an anal sac carcinoma and must go through surgery this coming week to remove the tumor as soon as possible. There's a great risk with putting any dogs under anesthesia, but bulldogs even more so. He will be treated with the u of F Veterinary Hospital. We have already spent almost $2,000 getting him tested, etc... The procedure and cost of traveling and staying out of town will be approximately $6000 more. This is creating a heavy toll financially on us.
  13. New to the Community

Hi, I'm another new member (David Smith). I live in Des Moines, IA with my family: My wife Christina, our five year old daughter Evelyn and Titus, our wonderful Husky. I did a tour in Iraq as an Army Medic and my wife is a veteran as well. Yesterday morning (the 4th)Titus and I took my daughter and her friend with us to run around and explore the recreation area at Saylorville Lake near Des Moines. We played, ran, walked through the woods and generally had a great time before going back home. When we got home Titus and the kids went inside for a little R&R and I got out the lawn mower to mow the front yard. Titus is fast, intelligent and a real opportunist. When a kid left the front door open for a few seconds he took off running through the neighborhood. He stopped a few houses down to sniff around, then ran at me like he does when we play in the back yard. I reached out to grab his collar and he blew right by me, he made a second pass and I reached out so far that I fell to the ground with him. We were laying on the ground still when I went to pick him up and take him home and he bit me. I was shocked, I stepped back to understand the situation and saw that he had been inadvertently injured by my fall. My wife took him to the animal hospital just down the road and her brother took me to the VA hospital for stitches. The animal hospital says that he needs $3000 surgery on a broken foot or euthanasia. We have only been able to pay for the exam, splinting and pain treatment so far, I'm going back to work monday but I won't be able to earn much for a little while with only one good hand (I do exteriors; siding, soffit, roofing, etc). The hospital won't break with the no payment plan policy and I was denied by care credit. I'm looking for help/ideas or both. I will still be earning money at work, but payday for me is 2 weeks off and my wife won't get paid for a month, so something short term is the goal for right now. We're not considering euthanasia as an option and won't be changing my stance on that issue. Thanks for any help or ideas and just for reading about an event that feels so tragic in my house.
  14. My cat Lily and Angela

Hello everyone! My name is Angela and I have 2 cats, Lily is 2 years and Jane is 1 1/2 years old. I have joined IMOM to reach out to the community and this organization for help in paying for surgery for Lily. On Saturday Lily was hiding in the backyard and a dog came in our yard and attacked Lily. She was shaken for 10 seconds before my daughter and I could get the dog off of her. Lily is now in the hospital with a broken rib and a hole in her stomach. She is stable but her breathing is getting worse as her organs are compressed against each other. Each day we do not perform surgery it is a detriment to her health. I am praying that this works to reach out to this community. My daughters and I view Lily as our other child and we will never be the same if Lily does not return home to us. The surgery is $1626 and as a single mother of two children I am not able to come up with this money. I have reached out to family, friends, our church, and other organizations but we do not have enough to pay for the entire vet bill. Please help us. Thank you, Angela
  15. Hey! I am Jackie and My dog is Charlie :)

I just joined the forum and would like to introduce myself and Sir Charles. Charlie is a 12 year old chihuahua with horrible teeth! I'm his mama, Jackie. We are raising funds for his dental surgery. Well, I'm raising funds for it because he is old and has no thumbs to do the typing We are in the process of applying for some IMOM financial aid, but I thought I'd post in here looking for supporters to his online fundraiser. I would like to avoid using IMOM's fund when I am able to promote his campaign myself. In just 4 days we have reach halfway of his $1000 fundraising goal. If you've ever had an abscess you know how awful it feels.
  16. Introducing Kaori

Hello, I have just joined the community. My dog Kaori is the sweetest thing on the planet. She currently needs bladder stone surgery, which is why I am here. My name is Amber, and I am very pregnant and ready to pop. I am quite overwhelmed trying to figure out how to make sure I have what is needed for baby but also getting my Kaori taken care of as well. I am completely open to any advice anyone has to offer! Thanks!

  19. Stomach Shot

    From the album Miss Meeka

Here is a shot of Meeka resting after surgery!! Our girl is going to be great!
  20. Meeka, our household kitten, since we have had since September 2012, had a very bad morning today that resulted in a visit to the vet. They did some X-Rays and found a foreign object lodged in her intestines She is on life or death status (we have 1- 2 days), all relying on a crucial surgery to remove the object and relieve her of the pain that she is experiencing. She is not acting liker herself at all - her eyes are glossed over, and her movements are far and few between. She is lethargic and is barely drinking water. Sometimes people use words like "wild" to describe Meeka - and with good reason, because she was raised on a farm, and most certainly has some "wild" blood in her. But I would do anything to see that fire back in her eyes right now. Please keep Meeka on your mind and in your hearts as we try to get this surgery happening in the next 1-2 days in a visit to the vet. They did some X-Rays and found a foreign object lodged in her intestines She is on life or death status (we have 2 days), all relying on a crucial surgery to remove the object and relieve her of the pain that she is experiencing. If anyone else has been through this, I would love to hear from you. I have heard great things about this community and have already been exploring the ways that everyone reaches out to one another and it is touching. I'm grateful to be introducing myself and Meeka into a community of people who are understanding and grateful for the roles that pets play in our lives.
  21. Heading To Surgery!

    From the album Miss Meeka

What a 24-hour cycle this has been! I got an email from IMOM this morning, letting me know that the financial committee reviewed my request. And because of the urgency of this case, Meeka is already at the vet! I dropped her off 45 minutes ago, and was told they would get started on surgery in the next hour. I was reassured that Meeka was in the BEST HANDS POSSIBLE! The OWNER of the clinic is operating on Meeka today to take care of her in this hard time. I am so so grateful for this. Meeka has been such a trooper. And we are both forever grateful to IMOM and this community of supporters. We will be brainstorming ways to give back ASAP! This photo really shows the hope she has in her eyes.
  22. Resting After A Vist to the Vet

    From the album Miss Meeka

This is a picture of Meeka from this morning, after we returned from the vet - and were told that we would have to raise the money for a surgery to take out whatever is obstructing her intestines. She has not moved from this spot much today, except to drink a little bit of water. This is so unlike her. Even though she is laying down and relaxing, if you get up close, she is tense and holding her body a certain way. I have no idea how this happened, all I want to do is make it better.

  24. Cujo needs help

Hi. I'm Lauren and my dog Cujo is in dire need of help. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday with the pretense that he ingested something he should not have. After Xrays and blood work, it turned out that Cujo needed what seemed to be, a routine surgery to remove a foreign body. When they got in there, Cujo had his intestines perforated, and had 3 ft, removed. His body has turned septic as a result from the build up of bacteria and the holes found. Cujo is my best friend as well as my one year olds. I have had him since he was a mere 6 weeks old, running in front of my car, on New Years almost 4 years ago. I have watched him grow and applied a lot of tough love. Cujo has always been there for me and is always looking out for my son. He knows and emotions, and has always been able to make a bad day, good. I don't want to lose my best friend. He needs more time to heal and get better. But with each passing day, another few thousand dollars gets sucked in. I don't have that as a single mother... I don't want to give up on him because of money. Cujo has never given up on me, and I will surely not give up on him. Please help support my best friend.
