Max was put down a week ago today. I have been extremely sick since both physically and emotionally. I appreciate all the kind words above and all that you did for us. Posting immediately was not a priority to me. I do not feel that a week later is inappropriate. On Dec 5th I posted that it was time. As you all know, it is hard for me to get to a computer to post. Have a safe Holiday Season and may God be with you all. Thank you all for everything you did for Swirlie and Max. May your good deeds be returned in your most needed time and needs. Blessed Be you all,,,,,,,,

His kidneys r at 10%. He will not be with us much longer. The vet did lots today to make him feel comfortable. He wont even come sit by me. I placed a cross I have with Jesus on it by one of his beds and he drags himself to it and just stares at it. Yes it could be curiosity but I feel it is more then that. Please light a candle for him when u get a second. The light will be good. Meanwhile thank u 4 all ur kind words during his process that led to this and for all ur help. Rather helping me with his physical needs and or listening to me trying to make this last, u were all there for him when I reached out about his problems. For this I am thankful to u all. Oh God, I feel so lost,,,,,,,,why , damn it why,,,,,,, I want to leave with him,,,,,,I know the others are there, I know that much,,,,,,

My neighbor came by to fluid Max. First fluid since his annual. He has not eaten for 2 days now & is now constipated. She is leaving Tuesday and will try to come for the next 2 days which he totally needs. His eyes are sunken and he is wobbling again. Taking him to the vets for fluids is not an option due to $ and the fact that it takes him at least 4 days to calm down after a vet visit/drive. If I had $ the Dr could do a house run. See, $ is nice to have. I have asked everyone to help and only this one gal will. She is so back to back with life, her job and 2 shelters not to mention her own live in cat crew and foster kittens. I honestly do not know how she does it all. Yes I have considered doing it myself but Max is not a lay still sort of guy. U need 2 people that are cat knowledgeable's; he is after all, "Max" the last of a feral colony. Now I need all of u to PRAY that he eats like the parana he was after his pain shot. Please pray that he goes back to how he was after his pain application the day he went to the vet. He was jumping, eating, running, how I wish he could have that medicine more often.

It is so hard not to give them dinner prior to the "time". If I had it to do over I would feed Swirlie every time he wanted food, I HATE myself for making him wait like I was told to do, honestly, I do,,,,,,AND I would take him outside daily, I often wonder if what they r prescribed to do is what it is for them to do as we r all different so are our pets, u know? I am NOT saying to do this I am saying that this is what I would do if I could have Swirlie back.

Thanks Cindy, his blood work came back and it appears his Kidney have gotten worse. His Prednisolone mg was lowered, we r transforming him to k/d from the I/d, (I will find out if he can once transformed have the I/d as a treat) He was recommended fluids but I am having difficulties finding a helper for that. If there is a way I will find it, u all know that. Hopefully I will be able to do it alone but he is very squirmy even with 2 of us. Have a great Holiday and hope u r all with those u love,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Bad news. Max all of a sudden started wobbling with his head down and tilted yesterday. We have an appointment Monday and thank u angels due to ur donations he has enough to cover the visit and blood. It is part of his annual. I was holding off but this happened. We r doing only the necessary for now to figure out what on earth went wrong as he was doing so well. Could it be that as once the tapering off the Pred started happening he started on this path. But perhaps that is not what it is. The blood work will hopefully tell. He lays with his head hanging way down and it seems this is what he prefers. Dr is not ruling out a stroke. He is also sleeping with his eyes open something he has never done. It is really scaring me the open eye thing. He is in deep sleep as I type this and eyes r open. Of course my luck it happens on a Saturday and the vet is gone for the weekend. I have not slept today making tonight second day and I dare not, I am truly scared. Please share ALL stories and help me brain storm. I pray intensive tests r not needed and mostly that come Monday he will be turning this around. We r still giving him fluids and if the gal comes tonight it will be the 4th night in a row. She has an overflowing plate and still finds the time to stop by. The Dr said he really needs the fluids. My Dr also works so hard with that clinic out the door with clients and especially now with the short week coming. Ok sponsors listen up and out;;;;;;; we appreciate u guys intensively. Please send prayers and keep them coming,,,,,,,,,,,,

Howdddiiieeee Max is giving us solid beautiful poos ,,,, not eating great but eating, off the fluids for now, 1/2 the Pred amount, his Pred goal is back to 2.5 mg, and then back to the every other day on that amount,,,,,, he is acting a bit bored and u know I cater to his needs beyond so that behavior is hopefully telling us that he is back to his annoying demanding of attention self which is a good sign cause it means back to who he is,,,,,,,,,,I feel sorry for him as I did the others when it comes to that cause I understand the need to go outside and be "cats", I feel horrible that I do not have a yard where I can allow that,,,,,,just horrible and it crucifies me,,,,, Enjoy the Super Moon tonight, as the next one of this kind will be in 2034,,,,,,,the best time to watch it is at sunset while it rises, tonight and tomorrow night, also the Sun is at its incredible ultimate colors while it sets due to all of this so if u can find a high enough place to view, start climbing, but the beach is the best place to watch it rise,,,,,,,but then u will miss the sunset at the same time, unless ur in Key West,,,,

Hi He is doing a bit better today, the fluid gal did not stop by last night and I hope she is ok. I left her another message today. I wish someone would teach me how to give him fluids myself. He is eating a bit now and playing. I dare not weigh him cause I will freak out but I am going to in a bit here anyhow. The Pepcid really helps him lots, and so does the Prednisolone and the fluids. I think vitamins would help but I am not a vet. It seems this entire madness brewed out of his fang falling out. I honestly think that mouth issue of his flared this entire thing up. I wish he could talk. Thanks 4 tuning in and I will stop by soon, we love and appreciate u all,,,,,,,,, have a great week forward, Max and me,,,,,,

Hi everybody Max's meds dose were increased for now and he is back to daily fluids. Hopefully he has the $ in his funds to get this months needed meds which fluids is a part of. He has been going through hell with this flare up the worst yet. Thanks to a friend he has been receiving his daily fluids out of office visit cost here in the privacy of his home. Those fluids really help him tremendously. Plus I assume they help flush out toxics' from the meds. I would like to reach out to the sponsors that will make and have been making his medications available to him. Without u guys he would not be with us. He is such a joy in my life and he is my Holiday miracle. Thank you so much IMOM and sponsors for allowing him all these days of health and existence on this amazing planet of ours.

Howdy dowdy on this 10-30 windy October day and I do mean windy Max has been splashing orange poo galore for 24 hours now and for the life of me I do not understand where he stores all that as he has a min of 3 bowl movements daily He does not feel well I can tell, he wants t eat and does very little, is not drinking that much water and I pray this too will pass as I really do not want him back on fluids. I wonder if the hole where the fang was contributed to this flare out due to the drainage, Poooooooor Max,,,,,,,
  13. Swirlie And Max Ortiz - Special Needs Cats -

Howdy Max's fang hole is huge, it fell out last Sat late afternoon, the vet is keeping tags via phone and I watch it for signs of infection often. He was great up to 2 days ago he is not eating much but that hopefully is due to his bowel issues. Pepcid seems to help him tons. I can tell he is simply not feeling well. I am sure that big ole hole hurts him as well. Poor Max,,,,, have a fun 31st,,,,,,,,, and great Harvest Season,,,,,,,,,,,,
