  1. George is a neutered 4-year old kitty who has been diagnosed with idiopathic megacolon, which has caused severe constipation. He needs deobstipation (surgery) to remove the fecal mass, plus supportive care and medication to help prevent future blockages. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, who make contributions to our general fund, IMOM was able to pledge $350 to help with George's surgery. We are hoping that the vet may be able to perform the surgery today. To learn more about George, you can click here to read an introduction from his mom, Erika. Thanks, angels, for making it possible for IMOM to help another pet in need.
  2. Cindy, I like to picture that wonderful meeting of Bleyderbug and Tuckiebutt at the Bridge. In spite of my sadness, it makes me smile to think of them running and playing and having a great time, with no medical worries or physical constraints to slow them down. What a sweet image that is. Sending love and hugs to you, and kisses to Justice, Laurie
  3. Cindy, I'm so very very sad to read about Tucker. My heart is breaking with you and for you. Tuckie will be in our thoughts and our hearts always. Larry and I send our love to you. Laurie

  7. Boi Boi Etheridge needs his leg amputated.

We received this message this morning from Boi Boi's vet: The surgery went very well, and he is comfortable this morning. He is taking his antibiotics and pain medication well, and had a good breakfast. This is great news! Hopefully Courtney will be here soon to give us an additional update. Thanks again to all of the amazing angels who gave so generously to Boi Boi.
  8. Sara is an 8-year old Labrador diagnosed with pyometra. She needed immediate ovariohysterectomy (spay) surgery yesterday to remove her infected ovaries and uterus. Thanks to the incredible generosity of IMOM's supporters, who make one-time or ongoing donations to our General Fund, IMOM was able to pledge $500 so that Sara could have immediate surgery. Here is what Sara's human mom had to say about her: She has been our companion, friend, body guard, swim partner and bed snuggler. She always attends our holidays and for how sick she is she still give lots of licks and love. She isn't ready to go to the rainbow bridge yet. Please help us.I hope we will hear an update from Sara's mom soon. Angels, thanks for making it possible for Sara to have her immediate life-saving surgery. We are grateful for your donations. We couldn't do this without you. If you're able to make a donation to our General Fund to help the next pet who comes to us in need of emergency treatment when there's no time to fundraise, please click here. Thank you again.

  11. Yesterday, IMOM received an urgent request for assistance from a rescue group to help a stray puppy. Here is what the applicant had to say: This baby was dumped in a persons yard, the litter mate had already died in the box. This little girl was barely alive and was taken to the vet immediately on 11-11-13. She was estimated to be approx 4-5 weeks old. She was diagnosed today with pneumonia and still needed to be hospitalized to continue treatment. She is a little fighter and needs all the help you are able to give. I called and spoke with the puppy's veterinarian, who told me that the puppy had bilateral pneumonia (both lungs) and needed additional hospitalization and aggressive antibiotics through Thursday. Thanks to those wonderful angels who make one-time or ongoing donations to our General Fund, IMOM was able to pledge $258.25 to ensure that treatment would continue. We hope that this sweet girl's recovery goes smoothly, and are grateful to those who rescued her and will find her a loving home once she's well.
  12. Faith is ADORABLE! What a precious, precious little baby. Seeing these photos just puts the biggest smile on my face. I'm so happy to read that she is doing so well. Please give her some gentle kisses from me, right on top of her beautiful little head.
  13. Estimate: $490 4% of $490 for IMOM operating expenses: $20 Fundraising goal: $510 Caseworker: Laurie All Funds Raised! No additional donations needed. Many of you may remember Mittens Ping, a sweet boy kitty who came to IMOM last month when he needed emergency surgery for a urinary tract obstruction. Thanks to you amazing angels, Mittens was able to receive the life-saving surgery he needed, and he's back home again with his family and doing great. At the time of Mittens' application, our Spay and Neuter Committee began a discussion with his human family about assisting with spay and neuter services for Mittens' furry family members. A wonderful organization has agreed to work with IMOM to spay and neuter the kitties, and they are scheduled to have surgery during a mobile spay/neuter clinic on September 17. The boy kitties are Lewis, Clark, Dey Dey, Leon, and Billy Ray. The girl kitties are Dixie, Bella, Taco, and Mimzy. Here's a note from their human dad: These pets are drop offs or the offspring of them. We really have no idea how we got to this number. I know those reading this will understand. We cannot turn them away. Not when we fear they may not be able to find a home in time. We were able to keep things stable in the last few years but financially we could not keep up with the costs to spay/neuter after I lost my job. We have kept them separated and have not had anymore new arrivals (thank you Lord) but we still have a few to go.We hope that you will join us in helping to spay and neuter the kitties. Your donation of any size will be sincerely appreciated. Please go to http://tinyurl.com/79og6jd to make your donation. Designate your gift "SN - Ping Kitties." If you prefer, you may also make a direct donation via PayPal by specifying paypal@imom.org as the recipient. Don't forget to indicate "SN - Ping Kitties" when making your donation. It's very important to all of us at IMOM, and we know it is to you too, for pets to be spayed or neutered. It's not only about pet overpopulation; there are multiple health risks for unaltered pets. We thank you for considering a donation to help spay and neuter these kitties. Laurie / IMOM Spay and Neuter Committee
  14. I'm so happy to read that "Stray" is doing so much better! Wonderful news! I sure do hope she's able to go home with you today. I'm looking forward to reading more updates, and yes, knowing what her name is! If you're able to post a few photos when she's home with you, I know we'd all love to see them.
  15. The puppy's rescuer posted this update on her introduction thread yesterday, and I wanted to copy it here so everyone saw the update. Today "Stray" puppy is doing good but still has to stay in the hosp at least another day. Tomorrow she will be given another x-ray and her condition re-evaluated. I know we are all hoping that the puppy's x-ray and evaluation go very well today, and that soon she will be on her way home to her foster family.
  16. Fund Update: Cal has $644 in donations and needs $500 more. Angels, thank you so much for your generosity in giving to Cal. His injury is very serious -- his leg is shattered with an open wound, and there is serious concern about infection. His leg needs to be amputated as soon as possible, before infection spreads to other parts of his body. Can you make a donation of any size to help get Cal to All Funds Raised? If you're able, please go to http://tinyurl.com/79og6jd. Please specify "Cal Guerrero." You can also donate via PayPal by specifying paypal@imom.org as the recipient. 17. Fund Update: Chopper has $817 in donations and needs $700 more. Angels, thank you so much for your generous donations. I know we are all very worried about Chopper. The vet says it appears that the loops of his intestines are caught inside on the right side hernia -- this can quickly lead to necrotic tissue which is very, very serious. Chopper's surgery can be scheduled as soon as funds are available. Can we get Chopper to All Funds Raised soon? If you can make a donation of any size, please go to http://tinyurl.com/79og6jd. Please note that your gift is for Chopper Alvarez. You can also use PayPal to donate by specifying paypal@imom.org as the recipient. Don't forget to note that it's for Chopper. No amount is too small -- every bit really does make a difference. Thank you for your kindness!
  18. Bumper LuvBug Grant

Thanks angels for donating to help us cover the cost of Bumper's emergency surgery tonight. His wonderful vet was willing to stay late to make sure Bumper could have surgery immediately. Due to the size of the pledge we made, we are hoping you can help us cover the cost of Bumper's treatment, so we can help the next pet in need who comes to us when there is no time to raise funds for treatment. Any amount you can donate will be sincerely appreciated. Thank you again, as always, for your love and concern.
